Special Awards

                INDIVIDUAL STUDY QUESTIONS

Quizzers may write questions individually on the new material.  They are competing against the number of study questions that Henry Miller writes before the quiz.  Mr. Miller will supply a "prize" for quizzers surpassing the number of questions he has written.  Report the individual's name and number of questions written on the Tournament Tally sheet.  Do not turn in the questions.  This is on the honor system.

            STUDY AWARD

This award goes to the registered team that has written the most study questions on the new material.  (example:  Church C has two teams registered.  Team 1 has 1,000 questions, combined total of all team members,  Team 2 has 750 questions, combined total of all team members.  Do not combine the total of all the church's questions of 1,750.)  Mark your team names and their total on the Tournament Tally sheet.

            MEMORY

Total points for each individual who quoted memory is also turned in on the Tournament Tally sheet.  There are two divisions for awards--those who quote Required memory only and those who memorize whole chapters (Master memory).  More specific directions for quoting memory are included on the individual memory sheet for your use.

            PARTICIPATION AWARD

This award is awarded to the registered team that has the highest number of rounds with the highest number of individual quizzers who score in a round with a correctly answered jump-up question.  (Example:  Team Faith has four members.  They have two rounds where all four members score.  Team Joy has five members.  They have one round where all five members score and one round with three members scoring.  Team Peace has five members.  They have two rounds where all five score.  Team Peace wins this award because they have the highest number of participants overall who scored).  This award is designed to encourage teamwork and full participation of all members.

            GOAL REACHER'S AWARD

This award is presented by the quizmasters.  They judge the quizzers and coaches on the following five areas when they are in their quizzing room:   10 points possible for each:

 1.  Helpfulness with their fellow team members, officials, and opposing team members.

2.  Attitude--how the team and individuals handle themselves in difficult calls and

         personal interactions during the round.

3.  Encouragement--Are the teams encouraging each other and the other teams as well

            as the workers?

4.  Relationships--How are the quizzers and coaches relating to each other and to the

            opposing teams and coaches.

5.  Appearance--We encourage teams to wear neat and modest appearing uniforms.

Uniforms are not required, but quizmasters are looking for teams who appear

            neat, clean, and uniform.
